American Youth Soccer Organization welcomes you to our world of soccer.

More Soccer Needs More Volunteers

Our community has asked for more soccer opportunities each year, and more volunteers are required to make that happen. AYSO is 100% volunteer run—no one is paid—so every coach, referee, team parent, and board member directly increases how many teams and programs we can offer.

If your family enjoys AYSO, please consider having at least one adult (or eligible youth) volunteer each season.

Fall 2026 Core Season Overview

  • Ages: 4–18, all skill levels welcome

  • Season dates: August 29, 2026 – October 24, 2026

AYSO National Fee (Annual Membership)

  • Required for every player in every region

  • Must be paid before a player can participate in any AYSO program or event

  • Shows as a separate line item in the shopping cart at checkout

  • Non‑refundable and non‑transferable, even if the player later unregisters

  • Pays for insurance, state and federal requirements, and AYSO administrative expenses

  • Paid once per AYSO year (July 1 – June 30)

Insurance

AYSO’s player insurance is secondary to your household insurance. It becomes effective only after all fees are paid (including the AYSO National Fee) and your account shows a complete order.

Refund Policy

  • Please review the full Refund Policy under the “REFUND POLICY” tab on the main menu before registering.

  • Refunds may not be considered after registration is closed.

  • If a uniform was already received, it must be returned if registration is cancelled.

Links to the detailed refund procedure are provided on the website.

Registration Steps (Sports Connect)

1. Create / Open Your Sports Connect Account

  • Go to: https://www.ayso73.org

  • A parent must create an account using a unique email address, which becomes the login ID.

  • The account holder is the primary account holder and is responsible for:

    • Payments

    • Communications with AYSO Region 73

    • Emergency contact and consent for the player(s)

A secondary account holder may be added and will have limited access.

2. Register Your Player

  • Log into your Sports Connect account

  • Register your child for the current program (e.g., Fall 2026)

  • You must be the parent or legal guardian; do not allow coaches or other individuals to sign up your child and reimburse them. This violates AYSO rules, insurance policies, and is considered illegal.

AYSO Region 73 will communicate with the primary account holder regarding the player’s participation, emergency treatment permissions, and important updates.

Uniforms

  • Uniform ordering is processed through the AYSO Sports Connect system during player registration.

  • Region 73 cannot change uniform orders or shipping addresses.

  • The person registering is fully responsible for:

    • Correct uniform size

    • Correct shipping address

Important notes:

  • Uniforms are custom ordered; no refund for wrong sizes.

  • No refund or re‑shipment for incorrect shipping addresses.

  • Late registration may cause:

    • Late team assignment

    • Uniform not arriving by the first game

For any uniform inquiries or additional orders, please feel free to contact:

More details are available under the “Uniform Ordering” section on the website.

Keeping Your Account Current

  • Keep contact information, email, and phone numbers up to date for both payment and refund communication.

  • Division placement is based on year of birth, according to current AYSO rules.

  • Teams are formed as balanced teams using player evaluations from previous seasons.

If you suspect attempts to manipulate team placement to circumvent AYSO’s balanced team philosophy, please report it. Our goal is that all players have fun and develop fairly.

Age Divisions and Teams (Fall 2026)

AYSO age divisions are based on date of birth:

  • 6U: Aug 1, 2020 – Jul 31, 2022

    • Practice: 20 minutes before each game

    • Game length: 20 minutes; halftime 4–5 minutes

  • 8U: Aug 1, 2018 – Jul 31, 2020

    • 3–5 players on the field, 8 on the roster

  • 10U: Aug 1, 2016 – Jul 31, 2018

    • 7 players on the field, 10 on the roster

  • 12U: Aug 1, 2014 – Jul 31, 2016

    • 9 players on the field, 12 on the roster

  • 14U: Aug 1, 2012 – Jul 31, 2014

    • 11 players on the field, 15 on the roster

  • 16U: Aug 1, 2010 – Jul 31, 2012

    • 11 players on the field, 15 on the roster

  • 19U: Aug 1, 2007 – Jul 31, 2010

    • 11 players on the field, 18 on the roster

Note: AYSO may increase roster sizes per the latest directives to reduce waitlists. Coaches will work to balance playing time assuming players consistently participate.

Practices and Games

  • 6U: No weekday practice; practice and game are scheduled in the same time slot.

  • 8U: One practice during the week; games on Saturday.

  • 10U–14U: Two practices during the week; games on Saturday.

  • 16U–19U: Up to two practices during the week; games may be during the week and on Saturdays, so the Fall season finishes before High School soccer begins.

Volunteers

AYSO is a volunteer‑driven organization; without volunteers, there is no program. Parents, family members, and community members all make a difference.

  • Anyone meeting age and screening requirements can volunteer (coach, referee, team parent, board member, etc.).

  • A volunteer coach may have their own child on the team.

  • Players may serve as youth volunteers if they meet age criteria.

Volunteer Accounts

  • Each adult and youth volunteer must have their own individual Sports Connect account with a unique email.

  • A family “circle” can be created by having a parent invite another (youth) volunteer through the volunteer section (choose “invite” rather than “myself”).

Please see the “VOLUNTEERING & TRAINING” tab on the main menu for step‑by‑step instructions on how to register and sign up as an AYSO volunteer.

Other AYSO Programs

The Core program focuses on fun and player development. AYSO also offers more competitive levels beyond Core. If you are interested in these programs, please contact us for more information.
