TEAM BANNER
Here’s a simple checklist you can use to design your banner that follows the Region 73 guidelines and keeps safety first.
Required content
A fun team name (kid-friendly, non-political, non-branded).
Sponsor name and/or logo somewhere clearly visible.
AYSO logo and “Region 73” (or Region 73 logo) both on the banner.
First name only for:
First name or nickname only for each player (no last names).
Division and gender, e.g., “U10G,” “U8B,” etc.
At least one soccer ball graphic on the banner.
Safety and privacy rules
Do not use any last names.
Do not show jersey/uniform numbers, or photos tied to names or numbers.
Keep the banner stand stable and designed so no sharp edges or trip hazards (PVC tubing is recommended).
Materials and frame
Vinyl banner or fabric banner is fine; vinyl is more weather-resistant.
Recommended frame: PVC tubing (about ¾–1 inch) with corner fittings; easy to assemble and disassemble.
Make sure the frame can be safely staked or weighted so it won’t tip in wind.
Creativity and judging
Make it colorful and fun to show spirit: themes, mascots, slogans appropriate for kids.
Involve players in picking the team name or artwork (within the guidelines).
If you already have a banner
