Introduction to the American Youth Soccer Organization
The American Youth Soccer Organization, or AYSO was founded in the Los Angeles area in 1964. Since that time, the non-profit organization has become of the the country's most successful youth programs and the largest with all volunteers with regions in all fifty states. Our mission is to provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives. AYSO's success is bases on its philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development. We promote development over winning at all cost.
Region 73 is one of the seven active regions in Kern County, known as Area A.
There are ten areas in our Section, known as Section 10. The section includes Palmdale/Lancaster, Kern County, Paso Robles, and the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. There are thirteen sections in the United States, and one in Russia. We are identified as 10-A-73.
