IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION NOTES:

1. Each AYSO (youth) volunteer must have a separate Sports Connect account.

2. Each AYSO volunteer who creates a Sports Connect account must have a unique email address

3. The AYSO volunteer application is completed inside the Sports Connect account and shows your AYSOID#
This must be done annually by every (youth) volunteer active for AYSO.

4. The Parent/Guardian who will e-sign the youth volunteer application must have created his/her own Sports  Connect account BEFORE the youth Sports Connect account is created and the AYSO youth volunteer application is started.
 5. The AYSO youth volunteer application is one of the options of volunteer types, like youth referee.
6. The person who e-signs an AYSO youth volunteer account must have a Sports Connect account
but not requires to be an AYSO volunteer.

7. Every person willing to help AYSO must complete an AYSO volunteer application and take AYSO Safe Haven. Some other requirements may be required depending on the job they choose to do for AYSO.
AYSO has many types of volunteers like team parent, team manager, coach, referee, field manager, etc.
Become involved in our region and help create more volunteer jobs that others may like.

8. Youth volunteers do not require a background check.

9. Adult volunteers will receive a background ground check notice from Sterling. Complete the instructions.
On the Sterling website, There will be a fee for the background check.
When you complete all steps and arrive at payment click "pay later"
10 Print or take a screenshot of the completed background check from Sterling and store it on your computer.
Our regional administrators may ask you to show this certificate.

11.Before you start working at AYSO, complete the AYSO Safe Haven course.
This is listed as an Online Course under AYSOU.org.
You may also take an in-person course. Enroll online on AYSOU.org and attend the class with an instructor.

12. If you require other AYSO courses (depending on the job you choose to do for AYSO) then keep prints or screenshots of completion certificates that are available at the end of the courses.

13. If you follow an in-person course, note the name of the instructor, date, time, location, and make a picture of the attendance sheet. Take notes of the names of classmates. Ensure to enroll properly online in the course on AYSOU.org. See notes 1-3 and make note of your AYSOID number. Do not just show up for a course without contacting the instructor at least a day before if you have not enrolled online in the course.
The instructor is not responsible for credits to your AYSO record. The volunteer must verify and check.
