Step 1 – Volunteer Registration and Training
Team Parent Duties
Pictures (Fall only)
Snacks and communication
Create a snack schedule and ask about allergies.
Help the coach by reminding parents to cheer players and let coaches coach.
Promote a positive sideline at all times.
Uniforms
Field and equipment
Game preparation and banners
Volunteers and postseason eligibility
Help the coach find team volunteers (referees, team helpers, etc.).
Help track referee points so your team can qualify for region playoffs.
End‑of‑season items (optional)
Take a team vote about trophies and collect money if the team decides to purchase them.
Organize an end‑of‑season party (some sponsors offer discounts).
Coordinate a coach gift to thank them for volunteering.
Team culture
Help keep practices and games positive, even when results are not what the team hopes for.
Focus on fun, learning, and team building.
Encourage parents to support the coach; they already have a big task with coaching and communication.
The Region 73 Board is always available to help.
Encourage families to take photos and capture the fun:

Call local pizza places early in the season and ask about “AYSO trophy party” deals.
Some restaurants offer free pizza and drinks for AYSO kids during trophy parties.
These locations fill up quickly, so booking early is recommended.
