The Out Of Region Play (OORP) Request is for teams of which the coach feels they are ready to travel to tournaments outside our region 73. This requires approval of the Regional Commissioner.
The OORP request is for the regional commissioner to start verifying that the team meets all requirements for the tournament and the tournament papers must be included. A tournament Info package for the coach is available with info for parents and players what is expected from the team and to complete forms before they will obtain approval from the regional commissioner.
The team understands that they represent the region and as such must be in good standing with the region and have demonstrated that they can meet all the requirements for a travelling team. The OORP requests must be done early so the Regional Staff has enough time to determine if the team has met all requirements. The team will be informed what they are missing or need to complete if they give themselves enough time turning in the OORP early. This is not a rush job and the OORP request may be rejected if there is not enough time to verify or if an item is missing which cannot be corrected in time.
AYSO rules recommends that NOT the coach or assistant coach handles any money on behalf of the parents.
If one payment is forwarded for all payment of the entry fee and referee deposit then the check should be issued preferably by the Team Manager (or team treasurer) with the Consolidated Payment Letter and for each parent who has contributed a Personal Payment Letter (show signature, tournament, amount, date and for which child). The total of all Parent Personal Payments must exactly match the Consolidated Payment amount. ANY refund to the team will be paid directly to the parents based on the Individual Payment Letters. If the refund is to be used for a team party or donation to AYSO R73, the parents should declare this and it must show on the consolidated payment form also.
Please ask the RC for the Tournament Info Pkg. The RC will make a note who has asked for the info package and remind the coach to turn in the papers early.
